Foreign investment in Vietnam 2015
Generally in 12 months of 2015, total newly registered and increased capital is 22.757 billion USD, up 12.5% compared with the same period of 2014.
1. Issuance situation of Investment Registration Certificate:
Until 20 December 2015 there are 2,013 new foreign investment projects granted with Investment Registration Certificate with total registered capital of 15.578 billion USD, accounting for 99,6% compared with the same period of 2014.
814 projects were registered to increase investment capital with the total registered capital increase is 7.18 billion USD, up 56.5% compared with the same period in 2014.
In 2015, total newly registered and increased capital is 22.757 billion USD, up 12.5% compared with the same period of 2014.
2. Foreign Investment in Vietnam 2015 by industry sectors:
– In 19 attractive industry sectors, industry of processing, manufacturing is the sector that attracts the attention of foreign investors with 955 newly registered investment projects and 517 capital increase projects, with total newly established capital and increased capital is 15.23 billion USD, accounting for 66.9% of total registered capital.
– Sector of manufacturing and power distribution ranks the second with 9 newly registered projects and 8 capital increase projects, total investment capital of newly registered and increased capital is 2.8 billion USD, accounting for 12, 3% of total investment capital.
– Third is the sector of real estate business with 34 new registered projects and 12 capital increase projects, total investment of newly registered and additional capital is 2.39 billion USD, accounting for 10.5% of total investment capital.
3. Foreign investment in Vietnam in 2015 by partner:
– Leading 62 countries and territories is investment projects in Vietnam, Korea and especially there are 702 new projects and 260 capital increase projects with total newly registered and increased capital is of 6.72 billion USD, accounting for 29.6% of total investment in Vietnam.
– The second is Malaysia with capital of 2.47 billion USD, accounting for 10.9% of total investment capital.
– The third is Japan with capital investment of $ 1.84 billion, accounting for 8.1% of total investment capital.
– The fourth is Taiwan with a capital investment of 1.39 billion USD, accounting for 6.1% of total investment capital.
4. Foreign investment in Vietnam in 2015 by location:
– In 12 months of year 2015, foreign investors invested in 51 provinces, in which Bac Ninh lead with total newly registered and increased capital is 3.46 billion USD, accounting for 16% of total registered investment capital.
– The second is Ho Chi Minh City with total newly registered and increased capital is 3.32 billion USD, accounting for 14.6%.
– The third is Binh Duong with total newly registered and increased capital is 2.95 billion USD, accounting for 13% of total investment capital.
– The next is Tra Vinh and Dong Nai with total investment of 2.52 billion USD and 1.94 billion USD.
Some big projects licensed in 12 months of year 2015 were:
– Project of Samsung Display Vietnam Company with total investment capital increase of 3 billion USD; this project was licensed in 2014 with initial capital of 1 billion USD; The project was invested in Yen Phong 1 Industrial Zone, Bac Ninh with target of production, assembly, processing, marketing or sale of monitors.
– Project of Duyen Hai 2 power plant with a total investment of 2.4 billion USD invested by Janakuasa Sdn. Bhd – Malaysia Company in Tra Vinh province with the target of design, construction, operation and transfer of a coal-fired power plant with capacity of 1,200 MW (including two units with a capacity of 600 MW each unit).
– Project of De Vuong City Venture Co. Ltd. with total investment capital of 1.2 billion USD is the joint venture of Tien Phuoc Real Estate Corporation and Tran Thai Real Estate Co., Ltd. with the investor Denver Power Ltd – UK, the projects was invested in Ho Chi Minh City in the field of real estate business.
– Project PAPER FACTORY CHENG LOONG BINH DUONG PAPER COMPANY LIMITED with total investment of 1 billion USD invested by the investor Samoa in Binh Duong Industrial Zone with the target of industrial paper and consuming paper production.
– Project of Hyosung Dong Nai Co., Ltd. with total investment capital of 660 million USD invested by the Turkish investor in Dong Nai Industrial Zone with the target of manufacturing and processing of yarns.
