Vietnam foreign investment in september, 2015
In May 9, 2015, total Vietnam foreign investment with newly registered and additional capital is 17.15 billion USD, up 53.4% compare to same period of 2014. Estimates of Vietnam foreign investment projects has disbursed 9.65 billion, up 8.4% with the same period of 2014.
Ex-Import:
Exports by foreign-invested sector in Vietnam (including crude oil) in May 9, 2015 reached 85.2 billion US dollars, up 15.8% with same period in 2014 and accounted for 70.6% of turnover export. Imports of foreign-invested sector in Vietnam on May 9, 2015 reached 73.29 billion USD, up 20.7% with the same period in 2014 and accounted for 58.8% of total import turnover. General accounted for 9 months of 2015, the foreign-invested sector in Vietnam export 11.9 billion dollars surplus.
Investment Cetificate:
Based on the information system of Vietnam foreign investment, and counted to September 20, 2015, there were 1,432 new projects were granted investment certificates with a total registered capital is 11.03 billion USD, up 44.5% over compared with the same period of 2014. There are 461 turns of projects registered to increase capital with the total registered capital increase was 6.11 billion, up 72.6% compared with the same period in 2014 .
Generally counted in 9 months of 2015, total of Vietnam foreign investment with newly registered and additional capital is 17.15 billion USD, up 53.4% over compared with the same period in 2014.
First 9 months of 2015, there was sharp increase in Vietnam foreign investment compared to the same period in 2014 because of in August and September, a number of projects with huge total investment capital’s licenses was granted such as: Duyen Hai 2 power plant project with $2.4 billion total investment capital of Malaysia investor and invested in Tra Vinh,province. Samsung Display Vietnam project of South Korea with total investment capital of US $ 3 billion capital was added in Bac Ninh Industrial Zone.
Vietnam foreign investment based on investment sector:
Foreign investors in Vietnam has invested in 17 industrial sectors with main sectors follows:
1. Processing Industry and manufacturing Industry: attracted 737new registered investment projects and 346 additional capital projects, with total new capital and additional capital is 11.36 billion US dollars, 66.3% total registered capital.
2. Electricity production and distribution: second ranked with 5 new registered projects and 3 additional registered capital projects with total investment capital of new registered and additional capital of $ 2.6 billion, up 15, 3% of total investment.
3. Third rank is real estate field with 19 new investment projects and 7 additional capital projects with total investment of newly registered and additional capital is 1.81 billion USD.
Vietnam foreign investment based on investment partner:
There are 58 countries and territories with foreign investment projects in Vietnam, including the 04 most outstanding countries as follows:
1. South Korea: the leader with a total investment of newly registered and additional capital is 5.74 billion USD, accounted for 33.5% of total investment capital in Vietnam.
2. Malaysia: second with a capital of $ 2.4 billion, accounted for 14.6% of total investment, the United Kingdom: third ranked, with 19 new projects and 2 additional capital projects with total investment capital is 1.27 billion, accounted for 7.4% of total investment
3. British Virgin Islands: fourth ranked with a total investment of newly registered and additional capital of 1.13 billion USD, accounting for 6.6% of total investment
Vietnam foreign investment under the investment area:
In May 9, 2015 foreign investors in Vietnam has invested in 49 provinces, including the most prominent localities include:
1. Bac Ninh: leader with a total investment of newly registered and additional capital is 3.34 billion USD, accounted for 20.1% of total registered capital.
2. Ho Chi Minh City ranked second with a total registered capital of new and additional is USD 2.61 billion, accounted for 15.2%.
3. Tra Vinh with 3rd ranked with total new and additional registered capital is USD 2.52 billion, accounted for 14.7% of total investment capital.
Vietnam foreign investment based on region:
1. The Southeast region is the leader: attract foreign investment capital in Vietnam with newly and additional total investment is USD 6.4 billion, accounted for 37.3% of total registered capital of Vietnam.
2. The Red River Delta region is 2nd ranked with new and additional investment capital reached 6.05 billion US dollars, accounting for 35.3% of total registered capital.
3. The Mekong Delta is the 3rd ranked with a total investment capital is $ 3.1 billion, counted 18.2% of total investment capital.
4. Central Highlands is the region where less attractive in foreign investment during first 9 months. This region attracted $38.1 million, accounted for 0.2% of total registered capital of the country.
Some large foreign investment projects in Vietnam was granted license during 9 months 2015:
– Power Plant Duyen Hai 2 project with total investment capital of $ 2.4 billion was invetsed by Janakuasa Sdn. Bhd – Malaysia Company in Tra Vinh province with the goal of design, construction, operation and transfer of a coal-fired power plant with a capacity about 1,200 MW (including two units with 600 MW design capacity each unit).
– Samsung Display VIetnam Company Project Vietnam with total investment capital of US $ 3 billion was increased; this project was licensed in 2014 with an initial capital of US $ 1 billion; Investment projects was invetsed in Yen Phong Industrial Zone 1, Bac Ninh with the aim of monitor production, assembly, processing, marketing or sale of monitors.
– Project Devuong city Co., Ltd. joint venture with total investment of 1.2 billion dollars was invested by Tien Phuoc real estate Co. Ltd, Tran Thai real estate joint venture Company with Denver Power Ltd. – UK British investor. This project was invested in Ho Chi Minh City with business real estate field..
– Project Hyosung Co. Dong Nai with total investment capital of USD 660 million by Turkish investor in Dong Nai Industrial Zone with producing and processing the fibers object
